So whats special about Team 980?
Most teams get established one place and stay there. Other teams only consist of members from only one school. Such is not the case for Team 980, for we have members from various schools and backgrounds. Now in our ninth year, we have built robots in six different locations, with the NEY Community Technology Center in Altadena our current “home”.
Our success is a result of the dedication of our mentors and sponsors. Students can participate in all aspects of our “Product Development Cycle” throughout the season. Our approach allows students to experience the real-world in a project team. Impossible deadlines, tight budgets, imperfect information, communication gaps: we learn important life lessons by confronting problems and persist until they are solved.
